Nineteen new cases of COVID-19 in Sask; province sets another testing record

The provincial government is reporting 19 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, along with a new record number of tests performed.

The provincial case count now sits at 1,863, with the active case count at 134.

Of the new cases 15 are in Saskatoon, and there are 2 each in Regina and the Central East. Two cases previously reports have been removed as it was determined they are not Saskatchewan residents.

Thirteen of the cases in Saskatoon are linked to known cases or events.

Six more people have recovered from the virus, for a total of 1,705.

Eight people are in hospital, all receiving inpatient care.

2,984 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan Friday, the highest daily number of tests performed to date.
