Cougar spotted in Moose Jaw on Monday euthanized by police

A cougar spotted roaming around Moose Jaw multiple times on Monday has been euthanized.

Moose Jaw Police say the decision was made due to the public safety threat and after consultations with conservation officers, who told police regrettably that any attempts to tranquilize the animal in an urban setting would not be effective or safe for the public.

Police used a drone to track the animals location.

The predator was first seen on a doorbell camera on the 900 block of James Street shortly after midnight yesterday.
