Regina Airport still struggling due to COVID-19

There are some more people flying in and out of the Regina Airport, but numbers are still way down.

Airport CEO James Bogusz says while there is increased traffic which is welcome, the number compared to usual ones aren’t great.

“Looking at August in total, we were close to 19 percent, so that’s a big difference from when Covid started,” said Bogusz. “That is a far cry from where we need to be, and this is just really to break even.”

There have been some PSA’s about possible exposure at the airport over the last week. Bogusz says he doesn’t like hearing that, but it is no different than someone buying groceries or visiting a retail outlet so the fear factor should not be there when it comes to doing business at the airport.

He says airlines are doing a great job at trying to keep customers and staff safe.
